Bremont are single-handedly bringing fine watchmaking back to England. And we’d be lying if we didn’t say we frankly gush like schoolgirls over the stellar collection of chronometers the British brand continually grows. Fast forward to the DH88 in commemoration of the de Havilland DH 88 Comet aircraft that successfully raced from England to Australia in 3 days.
1934 was the year that saw British engineering rise to the foreground to beat a competitive field of aircrafts. 2016 is the year that Bremont revisits British prowess in engineering and craftsmanship with two iterations of the timepiece.

The DH 88 comes in stainless steel (DH88 SS) and in rose gold (DH88 RG). Both are pristinely rendered, boasting a BE 54AE chronometer rated chronograph movement. More spectacularly, each of the limited edition timepieces’ rotors feature a touch of the plywood used in the original DH88 Comet aircraft. 25 jewels coupled with a 42 hour power reserve make for a robust and yet elegantly classy chronometer worthy of any gentleman’s wrist.
The RG edition comes in an 18 carat gold case with 43mm diameter and an alligator pin buckle strap. The stainless steel edition boasts a polished 43mm case. Both have Super-LumiNova markings for the dial, 100 meter water resistance, and a domed scratch resistant antireflective sapphire crystal.

Bremont clearly prides itself on revisiting an iconic history that shaped the United Kingdom. The irony is with their brilliant line of timepieces they steadfastly endeavor to shape their own history.
